| Focus; Divine and Evil Names:
|
Introduction: Numbers 6:27, Exodus 23:13, Prov. 18:21

“And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.”

“…: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy
|
mouth.” Exodus 23:13.
|
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”. Prov. 18:21.
|
From these scriptures, it’s abundantly clear how important the names, we are givenand respond to, are. Names have an effect on one’s destiny. Good names invoke God’s presence, whilst the evil name does the opposite. Almost every name, bequeathed to us by our progenitors, originated due to a reason, an event, or a covenant. Even seemingly harmless names are traceable to a cause or reason. Moreover, the tongue is so powerful, more spiritual than physical. When it calls a name, it invokes a positive or negative effect, depending on the meaning.

Some names have evil meaning, and the deadliest are the ones linked to ancient idol or deity; sometimes, predating even our great grandfathers. Names are reminiscent of a covenant or an event. It is possible to be hardworking, innocent Christian, yet somehow the one finds himself or herself moving in an unwanted direction, no matter the efforts are made. Having a second look at or investigating the meaning or origin of one’s name (s) may be helpful.

Why will God say in Exodus 23:13; “…and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth”? Good and Evil names in the mouth invoke the good or evil spirit to a person. Family names have a generational effect, for good or evil. Hence, if a name is good, it may be maintained.
|
But the evil dedication attached to evil names must be revoked, or even changed if God leads you to do so. Normally, before a change of name, either a heart is changed or the Spirits attached to the old name are arrested; and then followed by blessing. A Change of name, a necessity for blessing or an important task.
|
Classical biblical examples.
|
Aside from our earthly names, we have a Heavenly name. A divine name attracts blessings,
|
whilst an anti-God name, like a magnet, repels them. This explains why God changed
|
the names of some Bible characters, before blessing them.
|
God said in Gen 17: 5-15; "Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy
|
name shall be Abraham…” …“As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai,
|
but Sarah shall her name be.” God said “Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but
|
Israel:” Gen 32:28. Jesus Christ had to change Simon’s name to Peter, for a reason.
|
Furthermore, Saul, the persecutor of the Church, became Paul, the preacher to the world.
|
Confess this: “He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings deep shadows into light.” Job 12:22.
|
After praise and worship, switch to warfare with the following prayer points.
|
OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND PRAY THE FOLLOWING AGGRESSIVELY.
|
1. Oh Lord, by Your mercy, forgive my family; and reveal to me the evils in my root, in the name of Jesus.
|
2. Blood of Jesus, confront any secret act, linked to my name, in the confrontational name of Jesus,
|
3. Any idol, revived at the mention of my name; be destroyed, in the thunderous name of Jesus.
|
4. Any evil spirit, secretly attached to my name, be bound, DIE by fire, in the consuming name of Jesus.
|
5. My Spirit, Soul, body, defy any call of my name; from evil world, in the authoritative name of Jesus.
|
6. Any covenant or curse linked to my name; be broken, in the powerful name of Jesus.
|
7. The Blood of Jesus; respond to any evil call from my family idols, in the protective name of Jesus.
|
8. Holy Ghost Fire, visit my foundation, do the works that glorify Jesus, in the glorious name of Jesus
|
9. Oh Lord, turn my name to bomb, when called by the wicked, in the earth quaking name of Jesus.
|
10. Oh my Father, use my Heavenly name; dumbfound me with blessings, in the blessed name of Jesus.
