THE SIGNS OF THE END-TIMES |
"The Bible emphatically declares that the end of the world, that is, the end of human kingdoms, will come someday.
Numerous End-time signs are listed in the Bible, as a guide, to forewarn us.
Our Lord, Jesus Christ, specifically, stated that in Mark 13:29
“So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.”
Mark 13:29
“So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Matthew 24:33
What then are the things mentioned that point to the End-time?
A. Signs of the End times – Before and during the Tribulation;
Matthew 24:5-15
Those events are called the Signs of the End times, and are listed as follows scriptures;
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
24:8 ""
""All these are the beginning of sorrows.
24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
24:11 And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many.
24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)”

B. Other Signs of the End times - preceding
Tribulation 2 Tim 3:1-7
1. In the last days; perilous times shall come;
2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves,
3. Covetous;
4. Boasters;
5. Proud,
6. Blasphemers
7. Disobedient to parents;
8. Unthankful,
9. Unholy;
10. Without natural affection;
11. Trucebreakers;
12. False accusers;
13. Incontinent;
14. Fierce;
15. Despisers of those that are good;
16. Traitors;
17. Heady;
18. High-minded;
19. Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
20. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:;
21. Lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts;
22. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth!
C. Extra Signs of the End times
1 Signs in the sun, moon, and the stars
2 Many shall run to and fro
3 Knowledge shall be
increased
• “…upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;” Luke 21:25
• “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
Daniel 12:4
D. The Signs of the Tribulation: the Mid-Night
Apart from the general End-time signs, during the 7- year Tribulation period, there shall be clearer evidence. One of these is the open manifestation of the Anti-Christ.
This personality, or figure, will begin as peace-broker, a man of peace, and will be a type of counterfeit of the Prince of Peace. This hint is given in the book of
Daniel 8:24 -27.""
E. Manifestation of the Anti Christ
This was revealed to Prophet Daniel about 2500 BC, as indicated in
Daniel 8:23
“And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark
sentences, shall stand up. 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. 8:26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.
8:27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.”
F. Increased Cataclysmic events and tension
There shall be more terrible Earthquakes, more terrible volcanic eruptions, collision of the Earth with asteroid and meteorites, submergence of vast landmass, wild bushfires consuming vast lands, chaotic occurrences in the sea and rivers, etc “…, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken”:
Matthew 24:29
G. The signs before the Redemption of Saints
The signs before the redemption of the Saints of God, apply to 2 major events.
The signs are in 2 categories.
That is, before;
(1) The Rapture of the Church, and; before;
(2) The Glorious
appearance of Christ, to rescue the nation of Israel. Jesus said in
Luke 21:28
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh”.
From this scripture, special signs will precede the redemption of God's people.
But there two types of redemption mentioned in the Bible. They are;
•The Redemption of the body of Christ - the Church, made up of various categories, or groupings, of Saints – True Christians.
•The Redemption of God's covenant people - the nation of Israel.
Hence, the timeline for the redemption depends on which of these two group (s), are under consideration.
Details of these groups, and when they will be delivered, will be discussed later.
